Former Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe has said a section of leaders within and outside Jubilee are scared over the manner in which Deputy President William Ruto has handled power since he took office in 2013.

Murathe said the behavior by Ruto’s camp was one of the reasons why he and other like-minded leaders were taking measures to ensure the DP does not ascend to the Presidency in 2022.

We had certain expectations of how the leadership would behave, we have seen how it has behaved upto now. Some of us are genuinely scared that if they can behave like this when they are number two, what will they do when they are number one?" Murathe said in an interview with KTN News.

Khalif Kairo and his former business partner Clement Kinuthia are locked in a heated exchange of accusations, with Kairo now alleging that Clement not only cheated on his wife but also had an affair with his (Kairo’s) girlfriend. The car dealer also revealed that he is currently single, but will introduce a new lady once he resolves the issues surrounding his business.

The former Jubilee Vice Chair added that despite his plan to move to the Supreme Court to seek an advisory opinion that would stop the DP from running as President, his team was equally ready to face Ruto on the ballot.

A lot of people are relishing a contest against the Deputy President because they have loads of stuff against him which they are ready and willing to use against him,” he stated, adding that the advisory opinion was simply clarifying a point of law.

Murathe claimed that Ruto had been allocated half of the government with very lucrative ministries but decried that the DP’s allies had looted them dry.
