The court heard that the accused absconded with N600, 000 belonging to her employer, Mr Emmanuel Omikanwo.
Nzeaka, whose address was not given, is facing a charge of stealing.
The Prosecutor, ASP. Philip Osijiale, told court that the accused committed the offence on May 4 at about 3:00p.m. at Mogaji Plaza in Ebute Ero Market, Lagos.
Osijiale said the accused absconded with N600, 000 belonging to her employer, Mr Emmanuel Omikanwo.
“The accused ran away with the money but was later caught through the help of her guarantor.”
Osijiale said the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 287 stipulates a three-year jail term for an offender.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr Kazeem Omolaja, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He said the surety should show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The case was adjourned until May 19 for trial.
