A Ugandan MP has landed in trouble after he was caught urinating on the wall of the country’s Ministry of Finance headquarters.
Ibrahim Abiriga was caught on camera peeing at the highly secured building in Kampala’s CBD.
After the photo started making rounds on social media, the Arua Muncipality representative admitted the shameful act, but defended himself stating he had been badly pressed.
Typical of the African politician, the MP blamed the local media of creating problems by publizing the photo.
“You journalists are the ones behind this mess, spreading that picture on WhatsApp. I was badly off, I wanted to urinate, I jumped a bit to ease myself. How can I keep urine on me?” Abiriga wondered.
Local newspapers have condemned the legislator's actions and dismissed his excuse given that country's Parliament buildings are only a few metres from where Abiriga had chosen to public relieve himself.
Incidentally, the controversial MP, who is a big supporter of the government, is among Ugandan legislators who engaged in a highly publicized physical brawl during debate where President Yoweri Museveni wants to get rid of the constitutionally set age limit.
