Governor Joho has exposed shocking details on KDF's alleged plot to rig the Aug 8 polls

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has weighed in on the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) rigging plot claims by making new allegations on the issue that has caused a stir countrywide.

Joho has now claimed there could be KDF soldiers training at a high-end school in Mombasa for purposes of rigging the elections.

While addressing the press at his office on Saturday evening, Joho said he has received credible information that suspected soldiers have been going in and out of a school compound in Shanzu ward.

"Food is seen being taken to the men at intervals,” he said while keeping mum on the school's name.

He questioned the government’s motive on the ‘military deployment’ with just one week before the elections.

“What is this disaster that they are foreseeing? What is this emergency that they are looking at in that they need to focus on preparedness of the military personnel one week before the elections,” Joho said.

"The government should come clean and explain what is happening," he added.

His allegations come on the backdrop of a storm raised by NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Friday claiming that some 226 military men are being trained to help rig the elections in favour of Jubilee.

Joho rubbished Defence CS Rachael Omamo and acting Interior counterpart Fred Matiang'i’s earlier sentiments where the two had refuted the rigging claims.

He said that the Omamo’s body language during the press briefing indicated that she was pushed to speak.

The governor was speaking in the company of MPs Badi Twalib (Jomvu), Abdulswamad Shariff (Mvita), Nyali MP aspirant Said Abdalla and ODM Mombasa chair Mohammed Hatimy.
