Details of secret meeting between Odinga and Uhuru's team

The Jubilee made five key proposals to Raila Odinga for consideration.

Earlier, in a series of meetings, Aden Duale is said to have reached out to Nasa leader Raila Odinga through his brother to accept several of the Jubilee party proposals, including appointment of Raila’s lieutenants to key government positions.

“If Raila accepts the proposal, the President himself will get involved in the negotiations,” Mr Duale said as quoted by the Star.

Mr Odinga’s team, if it accepts to talk to Uhuru, would receive at least two Cabinet posts and four slot for Principal Secretaries for the NASA leader in addition to influential parastatal jobs and diplomatic appointments.

In addition, Jubilee vowed to use its masses in both the national assembly to unconditionally approve Oburu and Kalonzo Musyoka’s son Kennedy as members of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

As a condition for talks, Jubilee would donate one of its own six East African Legislative Assembly slots to Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Congress. However, Musalia’s ANC and Wetangula’s Ford Kenya are not entitled to any EALA seat due to their small representation in Parliament.

Already there were signs of Mr Odinga accepting the offer from Jubilee, and is not clear if after the swearing-in ceremony slated for Tuesday will eventually change the mind of the Jubilee bigwigs.

The Star reported on Tuesday that already Mr Duale had sent a message to Raila on behalf of President Uhuru.

“And he [Duale] was also trying to see if there is anything that I can talk to my brother [Raila] about. But I told him, that it's better President Uhuru reaches out directly to Raila. Not through me,” Oburu said, after details emerged that the security details of both Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka would be reinstated.

He added: “Duale is my friend. Even on Friday, I went to his office. I was campaigning for an EALA seat. You have to reach out to everybody, so I was looking for his support.”
