Vocal Woman Rep charged with assault

The vocal MP was arraigned in court on Monday.

Mombasa Woman Rep Asha Hussein was on Monday charged with assault.

The vocal ODM legislator was charged with assaulting a county traffic officer last month in Mombasa County.

Hussein however denied the charges before her and was freed on a Sh50,000 cash bail.

The MP is known for challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta to marry a second wife and take her to State House.

The Woman Rep said majority of the women are against the proposal, and since the president signed the Marriage Bill into law in 2014, "he should then lead in the implementation".

"Many women support the idea of legalising polygamy in the country but Uhuru should take the challenge by marrying a second wife and introduce her in the press for all of us to see," she was quoted.
