Journalist Eric Latiff has taken a significant step in his illustrious 27-year media career by joining Nation Media Group (NMG) as of today.
Latiffâs new role marks a pivotal moment for NMG as they aim to innovate and expand their broadcast offerings.
Simaloi Dajom, NMGâs Head of Broadcasting, shared her excitement about Latiffâs inclusion, highlighting his stellar track record across TV, radio, and digital platforms.

Latiffâs move to NMG follows his departure from Spice FM, where he hosted 'The Situation Room' for six years. The show, dubbed Kenyaâs Biggest Conversation, became a household name under Latiffâs stewardship.

He expressed gratitude for the journey, reflecting on the early days when he and his co-hosts, CT Muga, Ndu Okoh, and Njeri Thorne, launched the show on 20th August 2019.
âSwitching on the microphones that morning brought a mix of excitement and apprehension. Would this work? Would the audience embrace four hours of non-stop talk during their busy morning commute?â Latiff recalled.
Their commitment to the format paid off, turning the show into a trailblazer in Kenyan media. He credited the team, including producer Brian Evusa, Programmes Controller Brian Obara, and Radio General Manager Tom Japanni, for the showâs success.
Latiffâs media career is defined by pioneering ventures, including contributions to launching Family FM and Family TV, Kameme FM, and K24, Kenyaâs first 24-hour religious media house, vernacular station, and news TV channel, respectively.

In his farewell message shared on 6th January 2025, Latiff expressed pride in what The Situation Room had achieved.
âIt has been a great journey building The Situation Room to what it has become... The biggest part of this show has been the audience,â he stated, extending gratitude to listeners.
