Journalist Eric Latiff has taken a significant step in his illustrious 27-year media career by joining Nation Media Group (NMG) as of today.

Latiff’s new role marks a pivotal moment for NMG as they aim to innovate and expand their broadcast offerings.

Simaloi Dajom, NMG’s Head of Broadcasting, shared her excitement about Latiff’s inclusion, highlighting his stellar track record across TV, radio, and digital platforms.

“Having Latiff on board aligns perfectly with our strategy to continuously innovate and elevate our broadcast offerings,”
she stated, emphasising the impact his expertise will bring to the fast-evolving media landscape.

Latiff’s move to NMG follows his departure from Spice FM, where he hosted 'The Situation Room' for six years. The show, dubbed Kenya’s Biggest Conversation, became a household name under Latiff’s stewardship.

He expressed gratitude for the journey, reflecting on the early days when he and his co-hosts, CT Muga, Ndu Okoh, and Njeri Thorne, launched the show on 20th August 2019.

“Switching on the microphones that morning brought a mix of excitement and apprehension. Would this work? Would the audience embrace four hours of non-stop talk during their busy morning commute?” Latiff recalled.

Their commitment to the format paid off, turning the show into a trailblazer in Kenyan media. He credited the team, including producer Brian Evusa, Programmes Controller Brian Obara, and Radio General Manager Tom Japanni, for the show’s success.

Latiff’s media career is defined by pioneering ventures, including contributions to launching Family FM and Family TV, Kameme FM, and K24, Kenya’s first 24-hour religious media house, vernacular station, and news TV channel, respectively.
