Kitui Governor Charity Kaloki Ngilu won big after Thursday’s Court of Appeal ruling, on a petition challenging her election as Kitui Governor.
The Court of Appeal upheld Ngilu’s election stating that the election was conducted in accordance with the law and that Former Kitui Governor Julius Malombe’s petition lacked merit.
Malombe moved to the Appellate court after High Court Judge Justice Pauline Nyamweya upheld Charity Ngilu’s August 8, election as Kitui Governor, on grounds that he failed to prove voter bribery and intimidation claims.
