Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has given President Uhuru Kenyatta a rather hard-hitting advice meant to help him outwit the National Super Alliance (NASA) in the August 8 General Election.

In his opinion piece titled: Raila and the NASA Betrayal. Why Rebellion is Inevitable over Ticket Mr. Ngunyi told President Kenyatta and his Jubilee Party to ‘shut up’ and do more work on the ground to defeat the Opposition.

“Speak less and gain ground silently,” he said.

The political scientist highlighted that the recent attacks on NASA and their presidential candidate Raila Odinga was ‘indecent’.

Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

Prof. Ngunyi opined that the NASA team made a heinous mistake to select the former Prime Minister as its flag bearer.

He added that NASA had forced Mr. Odinga down the throats of Kenyans and this could cause a rebellion in the Luhya and Kamba nations.

“The point we are making to Jubilee is simple. NASA has made a blunder and they should not laugh at them and stick their tongues out at Raila that is indecent. Instead, every opportunity presented to Jubilee to shut up should be grabbed with dear life.

“They should say less and do more. The war should be won in silence in my view,” Ngunyi stated.

After NASA announced that Odinga would be the Presidential candidate to face President Kenyatta during the poll, the Head of State had no kinds words for the Opposition.

Speaking in Kiambu County Mr. Kenyatta mentioned that NASA principals were focused on creating positions for themselves rather than improving the lives of Kenyans.

He added that Opposition leaders had been deceiving Kenyans that they would provide an alternative only to spend time creating jobs for themselves. “This was never about the country. It was about giving jobs to themselves instead of the millions of Kenyan who need jobs,” the Head of State said.
