Tension is high in NASA after it emerged that Opposition leader Raila Odinga had dumped ODM candidate for the Kitutu Chache South seat in Tuesdays by-election.
Odinga announced that he would back Ford Kenya's candidate Richard Onyonka (who is the area MP) instead of ODM's candidate Samuel Omwando.
Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula said that all principals: Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi had reached an agreement to support Mr Onyonka.
"We are not going to force other candidates in the alliance to step aside and support Onyonka. Their names have already been printed on the ballot papers and it could be too late for them to declare that they will not contest,” the Senator was quoted by the Standard.
However, other candidates in the race who include: Mr Omwando, Andrew Maubi (Wiper) and Justus Mochoge (ANC) have criticised Odinga for the endorsement adding that it was wrong to make the decision for the electorate.
"What I know is that I will win the election. For that reason, am not shaken by the endorsement if is anything to go by, " ANC's Mochoge was quoted by the Nation.
The sibling rivalry in NASA could prove costly in the by-election with Jubilee posing a threat through their candidate Antony Kibagendi.
