NTV news anchor Larry Madowo has terminated his contract to write his weekly column the ‘Front Row’ on Nation Media Group’s newspaper the Daily Nation.
In a tweet, the celebrated anchor said that he terminated his contract on Thursday last week and that he was grateful to the Daily Nation for according him the opportunity to write the column for the past 4 years.
“On Thursday, I terminated my contract to write the #FrontRow column in the @dailynation. It was an honour & I'm grateful to the paper for the page since August 2014,” read his tweet.
The news anchor who is hated and loved with equal measure on social media, fell out with newspaper after it failed to publish his opinion article on his column the front row, but it was later on published by CNN.
“This week, the @dailynation refused to print my column for the first time in nearly 4 years,” he tweeted.
In the article, Madowo spoke of how he spent the night at his office after plain clothed police officers camped outside NMG’s building along Kimathi Street with the intention of arresting him NTV Managing Editor Linus Kaikai and anchor Ken Mijungu for airing the swearing-in of Raila Odinga as the people’s president of the Republic of Kenya.
