Vocal Kilifi County Woman Representative, Aisha Jumwa was on Tuesday picked up by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers for questioning over allegations that she threatened to kill a supporter of her bitter rival Malindi MP Willy Mtengo.

Jumwa allegedly threatened Ezra Bidii who later recorded a statement with the police saying his life was in danger.

Confirming the incident, Malindi DCIO Anthony Sunguti said they summoned Jumwa immediately the complainant filed a report and that they had launched investigations.

However, Jumwa on her part denied the allegations, urging the DCI to conduct thorough probe into Bidii's claims.

Jumwa says Bidii must produce compelling evidence that would implicate her in the death threats.

The woman MP asked those spreading the false claims to provide proper evidence.

"I don't have to kill Bidii to make it in politics. I have requested the DCIO to conduct thorough investigations," she said.

Jumwa garnered 8,436 votes against Mtengo’s 3,758 in the April Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) primaries.
