Fresh developments have emerged on yet another bank heist that saw thugs steal Sh20 million from Family Bank’s Ruiru Branch over the weekend.
Police Officers have now nabbed three branch managers and a security guard who was on duty, as investigations gather pace, OCPD James Ng’etich has said.
Family Bank Limited on Monday issued a statement, saying it reported the break-in to relevant authorities and that the robbery is under investigation, and the latest arrests is a major step.
"We wish to inform our customers that our Ruiru branch is fully operational and open for business," said the lender’s statement.

Mr Ng'etich snubbed journalists who had been waiting for a briefing over the incident since 9am, telling them he had urgent matters to attend to.
Earlier, he said the bank's security manager John Muchiri had informed him of the mess on reporting to work, that he found bank’s alarm tampered with and fire alarm vandalized.
“After opening the bank, Muchiri discovered that the alarm system had been tampered with and on further checking, he discovered that the fire alarm system had been vandalized and concluded that all was not well in the bank,” read a police signal.
“They managed to access the strong room to the safe by cutting the door using welding gas cylinder power and further accessed branch ATM machine using claw bars and the welding gas power,” the signal further read.
