A man who was walking outside of a courthouse in Kansas spotted a plant that looked like weed.
Todd Craig Moore took photos of himself standing near the plant.
He posted the photos to social media with the caption: “I would like to know what they got going on at Shawnee county courthouse. Maybe this is a sign they’re about to legalize.”
Legalize
According to Moore, the plant was growing just 15 feet away from the front doors of the Shawnee County Courthouse in Topeka.
After the post went viral, Deputy Paul Fernkopf said they received calls about the incident.
Fernkopf said that he went to see the plant and it took him 8 minutes to remove it from the ground.
THC
Sheriff Herman Jones said that officers conducted a field test, and the plant tested positive for THC, which is found in marijuana.
Fernkopf said that the plant will be destroyed as there is no reason to believe there was any criminal intent behind it.
