This punchy pop is a knockout. In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper aka dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD removes a chunky cyst from a patients underarm. And the famed dermatologist uses an office-like hole punch to make the extraction easy.
In the clip, Dr. Lee uses a surgical punch to pull out a circle of skin right in the center of the growth. She then squeezes the deeply embedded bump, forcing out the cysts white and gray contents. Dr. Lee is able to get all the gunk out, and returns to pull out the cysts sac to ensure it will never return.
In the comments of clips like this, fans often write that the infamous punch tool used looks too harsh on the skin. But in the comments of a recent clip, Dr. Lee explained why she sometimes uses this tool for removals.
If it is smaller and deeper under the skin, I use the punch, she writes. For bigger pops, I use the scalpel. At the end of the day, I want to make sure that I can create the cleanest suture and the smallest, if any, scar for that area.
The cyst is likely epidermoid cyst , which contain a collection of wet dead skin cells and keratin . This type of cyst can occur on the face, neck and body, including the underarm area.
