Deputy President William Ruto, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, and retired President Daniel Moi have been ranked as the top three most corrupt leaders according to the latest opinion poll conducted by Ipsos.
According to the survey, DP Ruto ranks number one on the list as he garnered 33 percent of the votes by Kenyans.
Ms. Waiguru, the former Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary comes in second place with 31 percent of the population expressing a belief that she is corrupt.
Meanwhile, 17 percent of Kenyans believe that Mzee Moi is a corrupt leader.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, former President Mwai Kibaki, and Opposition leader Raila leader were also mentioned in the survey as corrupt leaders by 5 percent of those surveyed.
The polls come at a time when President Kenyatta has revamped his fight against corruption after vowing that the vice must come to an end.
After the tough declaration Kenyans have witnessed the arrest of several high-ranking officials including Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong and former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero. However, there have been zero convictions.
The study further indicated 73 percent of Kenyans do not believe that those implicated in corruption will be convicted while 51 percent say that Mr. Kenyatta fight against corruption is a sincere one.
