At least 49 traffic police officers are set to be sacked after being found unfit to serve the unit following a vetting done earlier this year.
According to Nairobi News, their fate was decided last Monday after an eight –hour meeting with National Police Service Commission headed by Chairman Johnstone Kavuludi.

The officers have been reported to have been receiving money from matatu operators which transfers into millions of shillings.
The vetting was done to the officers in the ranks of Chief Inspectors from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI, Kenya Police Service (KPS) and Administration Police Service (APS). The officers have also been accused of operating matatus which makes it easy for their day to day operations.
Nairobi news also reports that three senior police officers who had also been deployed to head security in the public Universities after they were recommended by NSAC face the same similar destiny after being rejected by the Ministry of Education.
