Raila’s cousin speaks on CS job offered by Uhuru

Former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has finally broken his silence over a Cabinet Secretary position allegedly offered to him by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking during NTV’s AMLive show, Mr Midiwo who is the cousin of NASA leader Raila Odinga, refuted reports that he was among the Opposition leaders approached by President Kenyatta for a ministerial job.

“No I was not approached for the Cabinet Secretary position,” he said.

Serving country

However, the lawmaker mentioned that if Mr Kenyatta approached him, he would consider the CS job because he is willing to serve his country.

“I am a Kenyan and if I am approached for a Cabinet Secretary position I will consider it because I want to serve this country. I am not saying yes I will accept it or no I will deny it but I will consider it. The other matters we will decide when we reach there,” he said.

Midiwo’s position did not augur well with NRM General Miguna Miguna who was also in the show.

Miguna stated that if the former MP accepts the CS job he will be legitimising the Presidency of Mr. Kenyatta which was against NASA’s stand.

All inclusive government

The Opposition leaders have refused to recognize President Kenyatta as the Head of State noting that they will be swearing-in Mr Odinga as the People’s President.

Meanwhile, there have been speculations that President Kenyatta was considering to involve NASA leaders in his Government.
