The Nation Media Group (NMG) on Monday landed in serious trouble with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji following an alleged misleading article published about him.
In a letter to the Aga Khan-owned media group, Mr. Haji protested against an article titled - Noordin Haji: I’ll bring down the high and mighty in graft cases.
In the article, the Nation claimed that it had a phone interview with Haji who divulged that he was ready to fight high-ranking individuals implicated in corruption.
However, the DPP dismissed the claims noting that he did not have any phone interview with the Nation.
"The DPP has not had any telephone conversation with the author of the article.
"The DPP has not at any time in his press release or press conference said that he will bring down the high and mighty as alleged by the misleading heading in the fight against corruption," the statement read.
Haji demanded an explanation and immediate apology from the Nation.
A spot check by Pulselive.co.ke showed that the article is currently titled: I'll nail the big fish, says DPP Haji.
