    Ingredients

    2 medium onions, chopped or thinly sliced

    450g/1lb lean beef mince

    2 tbsp oil

    2 medium carrots, grated

    1 tsp chili powder

    1 1/2 tbsp pilau masala

    2-3 bay leaves

    1 1/2 cups hot water (to cook the beef)

    1 1/2 cups Daawat Basmati Rice, rinsed and soaked

    Salt to taste

    Freshly ground black pepper

    1 bulb of garlic, cut the top off to expose the cloves of garlic

    1 tsp coriander powder

    3 cups hot water (to cook the rice)
