DP Ruto to give Harambee Stars Sh50 million on one Condition

More Goodies for Harambee Stars

Deputy President William Ruto has promised Harambee Stars a new bus in two weeks’ time with a pledge of Sh50 Million if they qualify for the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

Harambee Stars who emerged as Cecafa Champions have received lots of rewards from different stakeholders.

Stars earned Sh 10 million for lifting the tournament, with Dp Ruto adding them Sh 5 million for their victory.

Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko and his Machakos counterpart, Alfred Mutua each contributed one million with the rest coming from the prize money for lifting the regional tournament.

Goalkeeper Patrick Matasi was the hero as Harambee Stars edged out Zanzibar Heroes 3-2 on post-match penalties to win a seventh Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday.

Matasi saved three penalties to help Stars beat the impressive islanders, who twice came from behind to force the match into penalties. The match ended 2-2 after extra time.
