IEBC Talks Collapse after NASA leaders Walk Out

The National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders led by Siaya Senator James Orengo on Thursday walked out of from a consultative meeting with IEBC and Jubilee party at the Bomas of Kenya.

Speaking to journalists, Mr. Orengo stated that it was meaningless to continue with the meeting after Jubilee leaders passed a Bill to amend Election Act.

He opined that IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati and other Commissioners were also baffled by the legislators’ new strategy to change the Constitution ahead of the repeat presidential election.

“This meeting with IEBC doesn't make any sense. The Chairman of the Commission also feels the same way,” he said.

The Senator held that the move by the ruling Government was meant to benefit President Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming poll.
