Rappers AY and Mwana FA awarded Ksh96 Million
This comes on the same week Mwana FA and his wife welcomed their second-born daughter.

The two were awarded 96 Million Kenya shillings as damages after suing telecom company MIC Tanzania (Tigo) for illegal use of their music as caller tunes.
The songs Dakika Moja and Usije Mjini are the bone of contention in the case.

The two were granted the amount on April 11, 2016, by Ilala District Court’s senior resident magistrate Juma Hassan following a 4-year court battle. The Telecom Company took to court to protest the hefty amount but failed and had to pay up 2 years later.
Speaking to Mwananchi TZ at the time of the ruling, Mwana FA described the ruling as ‘a key moment in copyright in Tanzania’.
He then went on to add “This is something that has been happening for quite a long time now mainly because of lack of knowledge and maybe because of the costs associated with such cases. Nobody is supposed to use your work without your permission or agreement and if at all he has benefited then he is supposed to share with you according to the price tag you have set for your work.”
But that is not the only huge thing that happened to Mwana FA as this week, his wife welcomed their second born on May 22, 2018.
