Babu Owino is known for his cheeky replies and he was in usual form after a fan rudely asked him when he was getting circumcised.
“Utatahiri lini? (When will you get circumcised?)” read the comment and Babu Owino quickly replied with “Siku yenye mamako atakubali kuinyonya” (When your mum goes down on me).
The exchange came after Babu claimed that Vice President William Ruto was involved in a gold scam. “I know of one client whom the Deputy President sold fake gold to. Dossier coming out soon. Hatupendi ujinga,” the Embakasi East MP wrote.
Fake Gold Scam
Babu Owino’s comment came a week after it emerged that members of the Dubai royal family lost at least Sh400 million to suspected Kenyan criminals in a fake gold scam.
Ali Zandi who conducts business on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is said to have paid millions of shillings for gold to be delivered to him. However, it never made it to Dubai as it was allegedly seized at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on its way there.
The Nation Newspaper reported that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) wrote a protest letter asking for the release of gold owed to Ali Zandi.
This said to have prompted a swift reaction by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations that saw a consignment of fake gold being seized last Monday at the affluent Kileleshwa suburb.
When detectives raided the house in Kileleshwa suspected to have fake gold bars, eight vehicles including a Subaru, Mercedes Benz and a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado among others, which were parked near the house were towed to Kilimani Police Station.
