Speaking to Mseto East Africa’s Mzazi Willy M. Tuva, Wonder who has changed his social media names from David Wonder EMB to David Wonder KE and deleted all photos from his Instagram account said that he wants to build his brand.
He narrated how Bahati, their EMB boss told them that he had done his part in their careers and whoever wanted to leave the label was free to do so and, whoever wanted to stay was free to stay.
He went on to say that he had no problem with Bahati and every opportunity that will come his way, he will always be thankful to the EMB Boss for taking him in, when no one saw him.
“Sina mengi ninaweza sema kuhusu hio sahii ila kitu naweza kwambia ni that kuna vitu mingi siwezi kuongelea Lakini kuna vile tulipewa freedom mkurugenzi akatuambia mimi nimewalea mwenye atataka kutoka atoke mwenye anataka kukaa akae, so mimi nikaona nichukue hii opportunity kumake the brand David Wonder. Not that ati kuna any issue na kila opportunity nitakuwa nikipata nitamshukuru sana mkubwa wangu kwa kunichukua wakati hakuna mtu mwingine alikuwa ananiangalia but nilifeel tu kwamba labda ni muda nijaribu peke yangu hapa nje najua si kurahisi Lakini niko willing kuchukua hio risk,” said David Wonder.
He however, refused to publicly say whether he had ditched EMB or not but promised to give more information as soon as possible.
The Msalaba singer added that he decided to change his name because he wants to push his own brand this year.
David Wonder also noted that he had not informed Bahati of the changes he had made on his social media pages because they had not talked for a while, adding that he was waiting for his call.
Mr. Seed
This comes just a few days after Mr. Seed who was also signed to EMB Records quit the music label.
Seed had to leave after Bahati called the police on his wife during their End of Year EMB Jesus Party gig at Thika Stadium, where she planned to sell coffee.
