Comedian Eric Omondi to Host 60,000 People in Kasarani

Will he do it?

Celebrated comedian Eric Omondi is set to host 60,000 people at the Kasarani international stadium, something that no other comedian has tried in Kenya.

The rib cracker who is famed for the phrase ‘Hawayuni’ has revealed that this is the year that is for him.

Through the 11 season of his one man comedy show dubbed ‘Eric Omondi Untamed 11’ he intends to have all the seats in Kenya’s biggest sports stadium occupied on 31 March this year.

The Bigtyme entertainment Chief Executive seems to be following on the likes of Gospel singer Kevin Bahati, who managed to fill Thika Stadium on New Year’s Eve, something that many thought was just a dream that would never be.

The comedian who came to the limelight through the Churchill Live comedy show, has equally had a fair share of ups and downs.

He once revealed on an interview with the African Voices that he used to get paid with sodas and food to perform as his first salary.

Eric has always publicly admitted that Kenyans are a hard lot to crack and this is what makes him work so hard to be able to make them laugh at his shows.

The only other time Kasarani was filled to capacity was during the World under 18 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Championships held in Nairobi last year.
