Exclusive: Joey Muthengi speaks on leaving Citizen TV’s 10 over 10

Has she left?

People came to this conclusion because she has been on a no-show for a while now and fans have been asking where she has been.

Speaking exclusively to pulselive.co.ke, the beautiful host rubbished the claims doing rounds on social media and on various news sites.

“I’ve read an article on that (in the dailies). It is fake news, a hundred percent fake news.” She said.

Though 10 over 10 is one of her biggest shows to date given that it is one of the biggest stations in the country, this is not Joey’s first rodeo in the media.

She kicked off her media career at Capital FM hosting the popular rock show ‘The Fuse’ before taking up the spot on ‘Hits Not Homework’.

Joey has also worked with Channel O, Ebru TV, Hot 96 and Tusker Project Fame as the host.

Judging from her success many people assume that media was her first love, au contraire, she landed in the industry by a stroke of luck. An opportunity landed on her lap and she took it. This was when she took a holiday to Kenya while pursuing TV production in California.

During that time, she decided to do a voice over for Capital FM and as they say, the rest is history. “Media wasn’t my first career choice. I actually wanted to be a teacher, and I was willing to get a PhD in that area. I also wanted to pursue Psychology, Engineering and even Dentistry at some point. I, however, realised the number of Communication classes I had done and decided to go with that as my major. I even dreamed I would be where I am today but I didn’t actually imagine it could happen.” She told The Nation.
