Swahili news anchor Rashid Abdalla has sent a special message to former Citizen TV news anchor Kanze Dena after her maiden State House briefing.
He added that Kanze had also crowned the Swahili language and congratulated her for honoring her roots.
“ Umevika taji thamani ya bidii, uvumilivu, subra na ucha Mungu. Umevika taji thamani ya lugha teule ya Kiswahili. Nami sikuviki taji la ukoka ninapokupa hongera kwa kuthamini asili na jasho lako. Asante umeipa heshima nami nakuzimia sigara.” Rashid said.
This followed Kanze Dena’s first State House briefing which was in Swahili after her appointment as the first female Deputy State House Spokesperson, by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
