Citizen TV’s Tahidi high actor speaks on being an alcoholic

He quit drinking

Popular Citizen TV’s Tahidi High actor Joseph Kinuthia aka Omosh has revealed that he was an alcoholic for many years.

Speaking in an interview with Amina Abdi Rabar of NTV’s Friday night show The Trend, Omosh disclosed that he has been an alcohol addict for over 20 years.

“It was so many years. I was an alcoholic for over 20 years but I decided to quit,” he said.

The father of four also said that he was always broke because of alcohol but he never missed drinking because his body system was used to it and he could not function without alcohol.

“I did not function without the alcohol, I had to take a sip or a tot to be able to function. Being an emcee I had to take something to feel good. But I think staying sober makes you even more high on life,” he said.

The reformed Omosh added that he finally quit drinking after he gave a deep thought about his life, his health and what he wanted for his future.

“I thought about myself, my health and my future and so I decided to quit,” said Omosh.

Omosh plays the role of a school sweeper in Citizen TV's Tahidi High show.
