Plus, whether you’re buying apple cider or white vinegar, it’s really affordable and goes a long way, depending on the reason you’re buying it for. I once had a clogged sink and bought vinegar to unclog the drainage with Coca-Cola and baking soda. However, thanks to my interest in DIY projects and being the kind of person that generally likes to handle situations on my own, I have come to realize that there’s a lot more you can do with vinegar besides making a salad dressing and well, unclogging drainages and this may interest you should you ever find yourself in a similar situation.

1. Vinegar is a cleaning agent.

You can use it to clean dirty tiles, your toilet, dishes, the floor, etc. Just don’t use it on things made from stone or marble as it could damage the surface.

Chopping boards harbour so much bacteria. Clean your chopping board with undiluted white vinegar which acts as a disinfectant.

When your skin itches, say from a mild bug bite or skin rash, if there are no wounds, dab a little vinegar on a cotton wool then rub it on the affected area. If it stings, you can mix the vinegar with some water to dilute it a little bit. This will help stop the itching, but should it persist, seek medical assistance.

5. To remove stickers.

You know how you buy say new mugs and the price sticker won’t come off easily when you’re washing the mugs? If this happens, pour a little bit of vinegar on the corners of the sticker to help remove the sticker easily.

6. Vinegar as a stain remover.

Spilled juice or coffee on your pants? Pour some vinegar on the stain before washing them. You could also soak the stained piece of cloth with water, mixed with vinegar for a few hours then proceed to wash as normal. You could also use the vinegar to remove stains on the couch or carpet for instance.
