What nobody tells you about dying your hair for the first time

You don't want to regret it

Dyed hair(That Sister)

If you thought you will wake up one day and dye your hair, you got it all wrong. Hair dying might seem like it’s not a big deal until you dye your hair and realize that there are things you ought to have considered.

So that you don’t find yourself regretting when it’s already too late, if you have never before dyed your hair, below are a few things you need to be informed about before doing it:

1. You need to do a skin allergy test

Unless you have dyed your hair before, you cannot know how your skin is going to react. That means that you have to do a skin allergy test before dying your hair. You can try it on the backside of your hand and leave it for around 24 hours. During this period, observe the area and watch out for any reactions.

2. The colour will fade

If you dye your hair today, it won’t remain the same in the next few weeks. It will fade due to exposure to sunlight, conditioner, washing often, and, using other hair products that are not meant for coloured hair. So be prepared to get touch-ups regularly also because your hair keeps on growing and you will need to get your roots done.

3. Keep in mind your skin tone

So your best friend dyed their hair purple and you think you can pull out the look as well? Not necessarily. Unless your skin tone is the same as theirs, it might be a huge disappointment for you. If you are not sure which colour goes well with your skin tone, talk to your hairstylist for the best advice.

4. Your hair texture will change

In case nobody ever told you this, brace yourself for the new change. Not necessarily n a bad way, but you are more likely to notice some change.
