You’ve come home from a hectic day at work and all you want to do is take a shower, eat and fall asleep.

You get home shower, eat but the sleeping part becomes a little tricky and you end up staying awake until wee hours of the night – dang it insomnia.

Psychologists say that the average adult requires at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep everyday but sometimes stress or even unhealthy lifestyle habits like binge watching your favorite shows throughout the night can make it impossible to get all those hours in.

No need to worry though as there are ways to make sure you fall asleep faster.

It’s counteractive but can help. According to a study conducted at the University of Glagow found that insomniacs that were instructed to stay awake fell asleep faster than those that were trying to fall asleep.

2.Wear socks to bed

Apparently keeping your feet warm can help you fall asleep faster.

3.Take a warm shower

After taking a warm shower, the temperatures in your body drop which in turn slows down your metabolism which can help you get ready for bed.

4.Listen to music

A 2008 study found that people who listened to classical music for 45 minutes before bed showed greater improvement in sleep quality.
