Seek treatment

Vaginal pimples(Fine Art America)

Just like any other part of the body, your pubic area can also get pimples. It’s quite scary to see bumps down there but you can always get treatment.

But it’s way much better if you know some of the causes of vaginal pimples so that you can avoid them. Some causes of vaginal pimples include:

1. Genital warts

They are quite common among women and you can get them through intercourse. If you do not have them already, you can take a Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine. If you have them though, you will need to seek treatment as they can get uncomfortable. A vaccine is, however, much better since it’s not possible to completely eliminate the virus from the body.

2. Genital herpes

Just like warts, it’s not possible to completely eliminate the Herpes Simplex virus that causes genital herpes. The pimples can become sore and painful but you can get medication to reduce the symptoms.

3. Contact dermatitis

This is usually the cause of most vaginal pimples. Your skin could be reacting to soap, semen, sanitary pads, lotions or other hygiene products. If you are allergic to something, the skin gets irritated and you can develop pimples.

4. Folliculitis

This is also a common cause of vaginal pimples. It may occur as a result of shaving, ingrown pubic hairs, infected cut or wound or even wearing tight clothing that roughly rubs against the pubic area.

5. Molluscum contagiosum

Well, this is quite a term but the condition is not as scary as the name. It’s simply an infection that can affect any part of the body with the vagina not being an exception. It’s characterized by small bumps that can get turn reddish, get itchy as well as release discharge.
