The fish eyes are somewhat of a common delicacies across certain cultures. From a famous Russian fish eye soup called ukha, to serving guests of honour fish eyeballs during meals of fish.

Experts in these tasty treats say that biting into a fish eyeball is like biting into a fish flavoured grape that still has skin on.

2. They stimulate production of brain cells

They are rich in nutrients that boost the development of grey matter.

3. Can help stave off memory loss

This is due to the fact that fish eyeballs are rich in unsaturated fatty acids called DHA and EPA.

4. They are the most nutritious part of the fish

They contain the largest concentration of nutrients. Fish eyeballs contain omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin A and protein.

Next time you're served a heaping hunk of fish, be sure to eat the eyeballs too.
