Surprise as Sh130 Million stolen vodka bottle found empty

The bottle is made from gold and silver and has a diamond encrusted cap.

The bottle which was on loan at a Copenhagen bar was found drained and dented near a construction site within the city.

“Unfortunately, it’s empty. It is one of those working on the construction site that has found it,” Owner of the bar, Café 33, Brian Ingberg told a local Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet.

CCTV footage released on Wednesday showed an intruder grabbing the bottle from the bar and fleeing the scene.

The unidentified man used a key to enter the premises before identifying the bottle and absconding with it, raising speculations of the theft being an inside job.

According to Mr. Ingberg, before the bottle was found, he had received an anonymous phone call from a man claiming to know who had the bottle and that the thief wanted to return it.

“I got the feeling that he felt he was in trouble because of the police and Leon in Russia wanting to send people out to look for it,” he said.

Leon, full name Leonard F Yankelovich, is the actual owner of the bottle.

Mr. Ingberg revealed that the reason for the pricing of the bottle has less to do with the actual content of the bottle – the vodka- but has more to do with what the bottle is made of.

The bottle is made from gold and silver - 6.6 pounds of both gold and silver to be exact - and has a diamond encrusted cap.

The bottle has also made a feature on an episode of the popular drama series House of Cards.

All hope is not lost for the bar owner however as he still has some vodka that he can use to refill the bottle.
