Play hard to get and 5 other pieces of relationship advice you should ignore

Some pieces of advice though.

Telling your friend to be honest about their feelings towards their partner is one thing but telling them to be honest with their feelings and not budge because it will compromise what they believe in is a recipe for disaster.

Top dating coach Matthew Hussey, revealed some of the common pieces of relationship advice that people need to ignore and honestly, they make sense.

1.Play hard to get

This line mostly relates to women.

You are either in or out of a relationship. Leave the games for the children.

There is nothing wrong with liking a guy instantly and expressing that in your interactions with him. It doesn’t devalue you.

2.He will come to you when the time is right

How about you try and find them. Nothing wrong with breaking tradition.

And also, no man is going to come to you when you are seated at home and not out there living your life.

3.Relationships are hard work

Yes, relationships require time, effort, sacrifices which can be seen as hard work but it doesn’t have to be hard work. How about, it just stays as you care about someone and would do anything for them.

Also, if it feels like work then maybe there’s an underlying issue you need to address.

4.Stop being picky

Never lower your standards just because you don’t want to appear difficult. Maintain your standards but also be realistic with them.

5.If they can’t accept you at your worst, then they don’t deserve you at your best

What if your worst is constant lying and emotional abuse? Should someone just stay because you are going through a hard time? Doesn’t seem very fair for the other person.

6.Love is all that matters in a relationship

Love is one of the greatest foundation to have in a relationship but it honestly isn’t enough to keep a relationship together. Finances matter, trust matters, compromise and so much more. Keep that in mind.
