Do you know the meaning of your African name? Well, African communities named their children differently depending on various things such as where one was born and the season of their birth.

The Kikuyu community was no exception and they have some of the most hilarious names in Kenya. Traditionally, Kikuyus named their children based on when someone was born, the place of birth, and also after ancestors.

Here is a list of some of the Kikuyu names and what they really mean;
