Coronavirus cases hike to 1348 after 62 new cases confirmed

28 new Coronavirus cases in Kenya, total now at 649 - Health CAS Rashid Aman

62 new cases confirmed by Health CAS Rashid Aman.

2293 samples were tested in the last 24 hours according to the CAS.

The total number of coronavirus cases now stand at 1349.

3 patients have been discharged bringing the total number of recoveries to 405.

Nairobi recorded 23 cases, Mombasa 16, Kwale 8, Kiambu 6, Kajiado 6, and Kitui 3.

In Nairobi, Umoja estate had 6 cases, Kibra 6, Eastleigh 3, Dagoretti North 2, Lang’ata 2, Westlands 2 while Starehe and Embakasi East each had one case.

Case distribution

Mombasa's cases were distributed as follows; Changamwe (9), Jomvu (3), Nyali (3), Mvita (1).

In Kwale Msambweni had 4 cases and Lungalunga 4.

Kiambu County's cases were as follows Lari (5) and Ruiru (1). Kitui's cases were all from Miambani.

The new cases comprised of 59 Kenyans and 3 foreign nationals. 45 are male and 17 are female, all aged between 6-64 years.
