DCI nabs 3 women with fake Ksh102 million in Githurai

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations arrested three suspects with fake Euros amounting to Ksh102 million.

Rose Wambui, Mary Muthoni and Tabitha Muhuha were arrested during the Wednesday operation, the DCI said.

Detectives busted the house in Kimbo Githurai and after searching inside they found a suspicious looking box.

The money found by the DCI in the box is said to have been in bundles of Euro notes.

"Thorough search in the house occupied by the three ladies led the detectives to a suspicious strongly locked Safe Box," the statement from the DCI read.

"They managed to unlock it later & found the over 880,090 Euros (fake) in 100 denominations. The same has been secured and kept as Exhibit," it continued.

The DCI revealed that the three are helping detectives in ongoing investigations to flash out other suspects with illegal currency.
