A section of Jubilee party directors on Tuesday attended a meeting at Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party headquarters.
The delegation from the ruling party was led by its Kiambu region head, Joseph Maathai.
The Jubilee-ODM leaders were held up in a meeting with ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna for the better part of Tuesday morning.
After emerging from the meeting the leaders revealed that they had discussed matters pertaining to partnership ahead of the 2022 General Election.
"@JubileePartyK Directors led by Regional Dir. for Kiambu Joseph Maathai today visited our party headquarters and exchanged ideas with Secretary General @edwinsifuna and the Executive Dir @ongwen. This a continuation of talks to build a stronger partnership btn the two political parties," a brief by ODM read.
ODM-Jubilee pre-election pact
The pre-election realignments between the two parties had been halted due to internal priorities for the ODM party.
"The merger idea is on the table but not for now. Let it come at a later date when we have finished rejuvenating our party and made it a formidable force.
"We agreed that at least for now, we should drop the idea of the merger and instead focus on revamping the party for the next four months," Jubilee deputy SG Joshua Kutuny stated in July.
