Thirdway Party Alliance leader Ekuru Aukot has put NASA leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka on the spot over funds collected during the repeat election in 2017.

Aukot asked the NASA leadership to declare publicly what happened to the money which was meant for the post-election victims in 2017.

He was responding to a question by K24 journalist Anne Kiguta who had asked whether Punguza Mizigo initiative was being sponsored by a disgruntled faction of the Jubilee party leaders.

However, Aukot delivered his punchline by asking whether NASA reveals who sponsors them.

NASA Paybill

"We are the only ones who have openly asked Kenyans to support us. I will tell NASA, Kalonzo and Raila you must account for the millions Kenyans gave you," Aukot said.

"How did you spend that money? Did you return it to the people of Kenya? You fraudulently obtained money from Kenyans," he added.

In 2017, NASA unveiled a Paybill number to fundraise for supporters who died across the country, funds which they said would meet funeral expenses for victims of police brutality across the country.

Ksh20 Million raised

In August 2017 the coalition had launched a Mpesa paybill after NASA leader Raila Odinga appealed to well-wishers to financially support their campaign ahead of the October 17th election.

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi divulged that they had raised Ksh20 Million as contributions from their supporters after two weeks.

NASA Chief Executive Officer Norman Magaya, who spoke to Pulselive.co.ke dismissed Aukot's request to have the coalition divulge how they spent the monies.

He stated: "Who is Aukot that we should answer him? Let him stay in his league."
