Speaking in Nairobi on Wednesday, an infuriated Odinga stated that Kenyatta was abusing his powers by intimidating Joho and other Opposition leaders. “What the President is doing on the Governor of Mombasa is dictatorial and illegal. He is abusing the powers of the Presidency. He must know that he is violating the Constitution and we can recommend his impeachment.“We can’t be intimidated because you have the police and the army. We have the military of the people. If it’s that bad, we can ask Kenyans to take to the streets," the former prime Minister warned.

Joho's troubles took a new twist on Sunday after KNEC acting boss claimed that he had forged his KCSE results to be enrolled at the University of Nairobi (UON) for a BCOM degree (Marketing).Despite refuting the claims, the Governor was summoned at the DCI headquarters in Mombasa to record a statement at over the forgery of academic papers.

"I have reasons to believe Joho has information which may assist in completing investigations in a case of forgery," DCI boss Pius Macharia said.

Joho confirmed receiving the summon adding that he would present himself on Wednesday morning to record a statement.

“The intimidation continues. Today at 4.30 pm, I received a summon from Mr Pius Macharia to appear at the Regional DCI headquarters Mombasa and record a statement,” the Governor said.Prior to that, his accounts at CFC Stanbic bank were frozen by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) for investigations.
