How Raila is planning to use Mudavadi & Muthama to betray Kalonzo [Video]

Questions have been raised on why Wiper Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, is still on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s (IEBC) list as a presidential candidate.

Well, political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has theorised why Kalonzo is still Wiper’s presidential candidate and raised suspicions on why ODM party leader Raila Odinga has not yet endorsed him (Kalonzo) as his running mate.

In his opinion piece titled: Trouble in NASA: Kalonzo for WIPER President?, Mr Ngunyi states that the former Vice President has not yet withdrawn his bid because he does not trust Odinga.

According to the analyst, Kalonzo is simply preparing himself for the worst just in case the former Prime Minister decides to ditch him, as he has not yet officially endorsed him as his running mate.

“Why has Kalonzo not withdrawn his presidential bid after endorsing Raila? What is he waiting? And why has Raila not officially nominated Kalonzo? What is he waiting for? In my view there must be suspicion in NASA.

“When dealing with Raila you cannot help it but be a chameleon,” the analyst mentions.

The Political scientist goes further to poke holes on why ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama were the only leaders in NASA who are not vying for any political position.

The recent unfolding in Machakos County saw Mr Muthama announce that he will not be defending his seat in the August 8 General Election, a situation seemingly caused by Kalonzo whom Muthama accused of being a dictator in Wiper.

At the same time, two of NASA’s principals; Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto are still defending their positions.

“The only person who does not have a backup plan in NASA is Mudavadi and we must ask why. In our view Mudavadi knows something that Kalonzo does not know.

Mudavadi is the person who betrayed Kalonzo in NASA. So if Kalonzo is still a presidential candidate under Wiper it is because he is suspicious of Raila’s relationship with Mudavadi," he notes.

Ngunyi insists that it is not a coincidence that Mudavadi and Muthama did not have any political aspirations in the much awaited polls.

"The only person who is not person a candidate is Mudavadi. And because of this Raila, can argue that Mudavadi is the only one suitable for running mate position. Finally, this is how Kalonzo is kicked out of NASA.

"And if you remove Kalonzo, Muthama will replace him and this is why Muthama was created," the political scientist opines.

Mr. Ngunyi also speculates that the reason why almost every NASA principal has a backup plan is because they doubt whether Mr. Odinga will win the August 8 election.

Nonetheless, Wiper has dismissed the fears of cracks in NASA since Kalonzo’s name was listed by IEBC as a Presidential aspirant.

Wiper Secretary General Hassan Omar mentioned that: "Äny speculations on the matter is unfounded."

"The NASA coalition instruments make wiper's presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka the running mate to its presidential ccandidate. That is how it is and ought to be," Omar added.
