Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s name is on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) list as a presidential candidate.

The list which was released on Thursday threw Kenyans into a disarray as the National Super Alliance (NASA) had already settled on ODM party leader Raila Odinga as the presidential candidate.

The electoral body’s list was the final one of the political party nominees to be on the ballot box in the much awaited Election.

Nonetheless, Wiper secretary General Hassan Omar stepped into the scene to shed more light.

Omar highlighted that the former Vice President had earlier submitted his papers to IEBC as Wiper’s nominee.

"We first submitted Kalonzo as flag-bearer for the Wiper Democratic Movement and then on the basis of the then coalition agreement of CORD and now NASA, he shall be Raila’s running mate,” Omar assured.

The Mombasa Senator added that: "on the basis of the legal instrument that defines the power-sharing arrangement between the five participating NASA coalition parties, nobody has to lose his identity at all,” the Senator emphasized”.
