Mudavadi said that all Managing Directors and CEO’s of parastatals have been given a target of the money they should raise to fund President Kenyatta’s re-election campaign.
Speaking during a campaign rally in Bomet County, Mudavadi said that the heads of parastatals are under undue pressure and stress as they are wondering where they will get the money from to give the Jubilee Party for campaigns.
“The Jubilee administration should not put pressure on managing directors and chief executives. If you are the MD or CEO, be very careful. Don’t sign anything that might haunt you later,” Mudavadi said in Bomet.
Mudavadi warned that Nasa was keenly watching the government's moves.
“We want to warn them and tell them that NASA is watching. Do not use public resources for campaigns,” he said.
According to the law, the Election Offences Act, 2016 prohibits public servants against using state resources in their campaigns.
IEBC has severally stated that the law was very clear and warned the parastatal heads not to go against the constitution.
The Nasa principal took issue with the government's move to block Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho from attending Wednesday's Standard Gauge Railway launch in Mombasa County.
Mudavadi also said the government had also blocked Bomet Governor from attending a function in his county.
These actions, Mudavadi said showed that the Jubilee administration did not respect devolution as enshrined in the constitution.
