Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama on Monday announced that he will not be defending his seat in the August 8 Election.

Muthama accused Wiper Party leader Kalonzo of favoritism during the nomination exercise,  something that forced him quit from the party.

In a press statement, the Senator mentioned that democracy was not demonstrated in the primaries and for this reason, he could no longer campaign for the Party.

“Nevertheless, recent developments and part decisions have gravely disappointed me.  The culture of killing democracy has emerged in our party and repression has been promoted.
