"They suffered cuts and we have stitched the injuries,” Dr Raymond Oigara, a surgeon at the facility was quoted by the Star.

Speaking after the incident Mogoa stated: "We were attacked a few meters from the venue of the funeral by goons who said they were under instructions to ensure that I don't step into the venue."

He accused his political rivals of the ploy to prevent him from attending the burial.

"I didn't have any ulterior motive. I went there to bury my uncle when I was attacked,” he said,

The aspiring MP sharply condemned the act noting that: “This is a primitive act should not occur in this century. I will not be intimidated. We shall make sure Kisii is a NASA zone”.

At the same time, Kitutu Chache South MP candidate Justus Mochoge divulged that those responsible ought to be punished.

“All aspirants have signed the Electoral Code of Conduct. Those flouting it should be punished,” Mr Mochoge mentioned.
