Kenyatta said the recent claims by Nasa that he was involved in influencing the award of the printing ballot papers tender to Dubai-based firm Al Ghurair Printing & Publishing, were part of a well-orchestrated scheme whose main aim was to reject the presidential results.
The President dismissed as “noise” the Opposition’s calls to have the presidential results announced at the constituency level saying that all these was meant to confuse the electorate along with the rigging claims narrative.
"All this noise you are hearing from the Opposition is only meant to precipitate a crisis that will lay the ground for the rejection of the presidential election results and force a coalition government," Kenyatta said.
Kenyatta has maintained that the Opposition's scheme to derail the polls is well documented and is all aimed at forming a coalition transitional government.
"It started when they asked for a complete overhaul of the commissioners of the IEBC. They went on making demands and the next thing they targeted was the BVR, then they went for the secretariat. Now they want to stop the printing of ballot papers,” Kenyatta has been quoted as saying.
