About 300 people ranging from politicians, prominent business people and public figures attended the invite-only event at Nairobi Club.

“The event was well attended. The Governor’s family, friends, politicians and business people were present,” a source privy to the event told a local daily.
NASA principals, Raila Odinga, Kalozo Musyoka, Moses Wetang’ula and Musalia Mudavadi however did not attend the classy event, choosing instead to send their representatives with their respective donation.
It is not yet clearly if Kidero and his Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke made any contributions and how much.
According to sources close to the governor, he is expected to officially launch his re-election campaign soon.
So far Kidero can rest easy because no other politician in the National Super Alliance has declared interest in his seat to give him a run of his money.
Jubilee on the other hand is crowded and has attracted at least five candidates including Senator Mike Sonko, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru and Nominated MP Johnston Sakaja.
Others are former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru and former presidential candidate Peter Kenneth.
