Fire breaks out at Lenana School

A fire outbreak has been report at Lenana School along Ngong Road.

Confirming the incident, the Kenya Red Cross in a tweet said that response teams have been dispatched to the school.

"Fire incident reported at Lenana School along Ngong road, Nairobi. Response teams activated, updates to follow," said Red Cross.

Other reports indicate that the fire began from a dormitory.

No casualties were reported in the fire that is said to have broken out at around 7AM.

Lenana School principal William Kipkemei said the incident took place as students were at the assembly.

Property of unknown value was destroyed in Monday morning fire. The property belonged to students residing in a dormitory called Tom Mboya.

It is suspected that the fire might have been caused by an electric fault.
