Confirming the incident, the Kenya Red Cross in a tweet said that response teams have been dispatched to the school.

Other reports indicate that the fire began from a dormitory.

No casualties were reported in the fire that is said to have broken out at around 7AM.

Lenana School principal William Kipkemei said the incident took place as students were at the assembly.
